Script Length: 121 Pages, A4

Target audience: YA (16-26)

Log Line: When film teacher Henry discovers he is dying of cancer, he turns to his students to help him make the movie of his dreams - without telling them about his illness.

Synopsis: Henry, an eccentric Australian film teacher working in Sweden, gets the news that he is terminally ill. Realizing his life has amounted to nothing, he convinces his film students to make a movie before he dies - whilst keeping his condition secret from them. The students recognize their chance to get a head start in the industry. They grow into their roles as the production develops, especially Astrid, the grandchild of an infamous Swedish director. Astrid is young, nonbinary, and trying to find their voice, whilst facing the pressure and demons of their grandfather’s legacy. Whilst Astrid struggles to captain the crew, Henry comes under investigation by the school for misconduct, and faces the threat of losing everything the class has worked to create, all the while racing the ticking clock of his deteriorating health. Things come to a head when Daniel, the principal, finds evidence of Henry’s past addictions on school property, and is forced to fire him and halt production. All is lost until Astrid’s growth as a leader sees the team come back together to finish the film - but not before they find out about Henry’s condition. In the end they all gather and watch their film together at Henry's funeral. They are devastated by his passing. But discovering that he has left them enough money to invest in their next film, they suddenly have a future to look forward to, using what he taught them and in doing so honoring his legacy.

A Divine Mercy

Genre: Rom-Com/Drama-Thriller

Spec. runtime: 2 hr 5 min

Script Length: 120 Pages, A4

Target audience: YA (30-50)

Logline: Deciding she doesn’t need a relationship to make her life better, Sarah runs into dreamy architect Archie, little does she know Archie has a secret.

Synopsis: Sarah, a 30 year old professional, has decided that her job, saving children from abusive parents, is too important to waste time on looking for a relationship. So when Archie comes along, a well known architect with the look of a Hugo Boss model, she is dismissive at first; but Archie is not as he seems. He is surprisingly earnest, kind and playful, almost childlike; drinking only chocolate milkshakes and going to carnivals for fun. Despite Sarah’s best attempts to get rid of him, the two fall madly in love and move in together.

However, the more Sarah finds out about Archie, the more things don’t seem to add up. Finding out about his checked past, being raised in an orphanage and having no family has changed Archie in ways he keeps hidden. Sarah’s family embraces Archie into their family, but after the death of Sarah’s father, Archie finds out that Sarah’s brother abused her and her sister and children.

Sarah then finds out that Archie is in fact a murderer wanted by the authorities, but he only kills pedophiles. Starting at an early age with the priest that raised him, Archie has been living a secret life in plain sight. Sarah is now forced to choose between her morals and ethics or the man that she has grown to love, while secretly, Archie prepares to kill Sarah’s brother for abusing her as a child.
